Social Events

The social programme of the 41^st Annual Conference of German Linguistic Society 2019 comprises the following events:

Tuesday, 5 March 2019
Warming-Up in the Schüttinger
The evening before the conference starts, i.e.Tuesday, 5 March 2019, from 7 p.m., there will be a casual gathering in the "Schüttinger pub brewery", which is located near the market place. The "Schüttinger" offers rustic Bremen cuisine and home-brewed beer, among other things. The number of seats is limited to 200. When registering for the conference, please indicate whether you would like to participate in the Warming-up.

Directions:
From the university – central area: take tram line 6 (direction airport) to the stop "Schüsselkorb". Journey time approx. 20 min. From Bremen central station: take tram no. 4 (direction: Arsten), 6 (direction: airport), or 8 (direction: Huchting) and get off at the stop Bremen Schüsselkorb. Journey time approx. 6 min. From there it is a 6-minute walk: After a few steps in the direction of travel turn right, then first cross the Domshof, then the market square and continue straight ahead into Böttcherstraße to the entrance of the Paula Modersohn-Becker-Museum on the left.

Social Evening in the Borgfelder Landhaus
The social evening will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 19:30in the Borgfelder Landhaus. The number of seats at the social evening is limited to approx. 200. When registering, please indicate whether you would like to participate in the social evening. A buffet is offered at a price of 35.00 €, for to be paid in advance at the time of the registration. Drinks are billed individually on site.

From the University – Central Area: take bus line 21 (direction: Sebaldsbrück or Blockdiek) or 31 (direction Nedderland) to the bus stop "Horn". From there take tram line 4 (direction Lilienthal) from Horner Kirche to the Bremen "Truperdeich" stop. Journey time approx. 30 min. From the main station: take tram line 4 (direction Lilienthal) to the stop "Truperdeich". Journey time approx. 30 min./li> From there it is a 2-minute walk in the opposite direction to Borgfelder Landhaus.

Reception in the foyer of the Übersee-Museum Bremen
On Thursday, 7 March 2019 at 7.30 pm, there will be a reception in the Übersee-Museum. The Übersee Museum Bremen is a Natural History and ethnographic museum. In an integrated exhibition of Nature, Culture and Trading, the museum presents aspects of overseas regions with permanent exhibitions relating to Asia, South Pacific/Oceania, Americas and Africa. The number of seats at the reception is limited to approx. 200. Therefore, when registering for the conference, please indicate whether you would like to attend the reception.
